LimX Dynamics’ multi-modal biped robot Tron 1 stands in three different variations.

LimX Dynamics, the maker of general-purpose robotics, has unveiled Tron 1, a multi-modal two-legged robot that can adapt for various environments and tasks based on need.

“In the AI era of general-purpose robots, Tron 1 serves as the best onboarding platform for humanoid robot motion control and a must-have testbed for embodied intelligence research,” the company said.

Tron 1 has a three-in-one modular design configuration allowing for flexibility. Its point-foot configuration is the simplest form. It also has the Sole configuration, where it can stand and walk like a humanoid. Wheels can be added to provide mobility in all terrains, such as climbing stairs.

These movement methods change automatically by adjusting the hardware and software.

The robot’s foot-end structure allows researchers to quickly assemble and reassemble based on their needs.

The Tron 1 has built-in high performance motion control algorithms and intuitive operating modes and is ready to use out of the box.

LimX Dynamics said Tron 1 “supports cutting-edge research in both model-based and learning-based approaches.

It comes equipped with in-house developed advanced joint actuators and the integrated hardware structure is specifically designed for legged robots to enhance its motion performance and stability.
