The AI Summit London's highly-anticipated hackathon launches this week, inviting next-generation AI innovators to showcase their talents, tackle real-world challenges and capture the attention of global enterprises and industry experts.
Across the two-day event, U.K. university students from undergraduate to Ph.D. level will be put to the test across various hacking workshops in front of some of the biggest names in AI.
Multiple teams will compete for the highly coveted glass trophy, as well as exclusive opportunities for career development with global enterprises.
Teams will have just eight hours across Wednesday and Thursday to solve a series of hacking challenges. The winner will be announced on Thursday; the second and final day of the summit.
Last year’s event was won by a team from the University of Southampton, who successfully applied AI to identify possible sites for renewable energy plants to improve clean energy access.
They won a cash prize and a chance to interview with British bank Natwest.
This year’s hackathon is being led by AI agent developer Fetch.ai with industry experts on hand to help guide competing teams.
“My advice would just be to go for it. Take the risk and try your best, because even if you don't win there are so many opportunities and benefits to be gained by participating in this,” said 2022 Hackathon winner Athithya Balasubramani, now a predictive analytics assistant at Unilever. “You will gain access to network with top industry leaders, as well as attend various parts of the Summit to find out the latest advancements happening in whatever area of AI you have a focus or interest in.”
