Fujitsu's Center for Cognitive and Advanced Technologies looks at how emerging technologies could revolutionize how humans make decisions and takes them from research to customer applications at speed and scale.

Speaking at the Quantum Summit London, managing director of the center Dr. Keith Dear said that it is important to consider cognitive technologies together.

“AI and quantum, in particular, help you draw insights and foresight from data at speed and scale,” he said. “Insight and foresight are the two fundamental defining properties of human cognition, and cognition manifests in how we make decisions.”

Dear also gave an update on Fujitsu’s quantum roadmap. The company is aiming to deliver a 100-qubit quantum computer next year. In March, the company launched a 64-qubit quantum computer with Japan’s Riken Institute.
