Fleet Management Platform Reaches 4 Million Connected Vehicles
Wialon’s fleet management and IoT platform has experienced a tenfold increase in users over the past nine years
Global fleet management and IoT platform Wialon now has 4 million vehicles connected across 160 countries.
The landmark was announced by its developer, Lithuania-based Gurtam, with Wialon’s continuing growth representing a tenfold increase in users across nine years, from 400,000 in 2015.
Around 5 billion data points are processed daily.
The new milestone was achieved a mere eight months after Wialon hit 3.8 million connected vehicles, making it one of the largest fleet management, GPS tracking and IoT software platforms worldwide since being founded in 2001.
Much of Wialon’s appeal is based on the fact that it is vehicle-agnostic, sensor and device-agnostic, and easily scalable for both small fleets of under 50 vehicles as well as large ones of more than 1,000.
Users are spread across several different industries, stretching from logistics and transportation to agriculture, construction, energy and waste management.
The software is deployed to track and monitor vehicles and assets including HGVs, LCVs, public buses, agricultural vehicles and equipment, construction vehicles and equipment, energy generators, fuel tanks and waste management trucks.
In total, Wialon has more than 2,700 channel partners, most of them small and medium-sized enterprises.
By leveraging the unified platform’s technology and multiple integration options (with over 3,500 device models for data capture and GPS tracking), Wialon claims they can launch, run and develop their businesses without the need for extensive investments.
Aliaksandr Kuushynau, head of Wialon, hailed the latest landmark, saying: “Fleet management solutions are of the utmost importance to businesses, as they are the backbone of operational success. Year on year we are seeing increased adoption of telematics, and a higher emphasis on safety and data analytics, supporting efficiency and sustainability in fleet operations.”
The 4 millionth vehicle connection was provided by GotYou Telematics, a provider and integrator of security services for fleet management based in South Africa, which has partnered with Wialon since 2017.
Aldo Gerber, founder and CEO said: “The sky’s the limit if you know how to use the platform’s wide functionality to drive your clients’ success. It's an amazing feeling to contribute to such an impressive achievement, marking Wialon’s global leadership in fleet management software.”
