Schneider Electric Launches New Cybersecurity Service
Designed for OT environments, the service continuously scans for threats
Schneider Electric has launched a new cybersecurity service for operational technology (OT) environments, dubbed Managed Security Services (MSS).
Powered by Schneider Electric’s global Cybersecurity Connected Service Hub, the new offering is hoped to mitigate the increased cyber-risk associated with OT environments, with these often seeing high demand for remote access and connectivity.
Leveraging advanced machine learning capabilities and trend analysis, MSS continuously scans for threats, optimizes processes and offers insight into potential issues.
“This MSS solution monitors known risks and protects networks, systems and data across IT, OT and cloud environments – each of which has specific protocols and attack vectors,” according to a company statement.
“MSS will help our customers implement cybersecurity industry-leading practices, proactively address risk, and align to regulatory requirements, giving them the ability to focus on their core operations,” said Jay Abdallah, Schneider Electric’s vice president of cybersecurity solutions and services.
“As part of our wide range of solutions to make organizations run more efficiently, this new cybersecurity offering is continuously evolving, helping to protect our customers against new cyberthreats that can, and will, arise.”
The number of cyberattacks is rising across industries and businesses are increasingly turning to advanced cybersecurity tools to minimize downtime and avoid loss of assets. Schneider Electric said its latest offering addresses this issue and meets a current lack of in-house cybersecurity intel, instead bringing the security solutions to the customers.
