Lifelike Humanoid Robots Shown Working in Chinese Factory
A short video clip shows a range of human-like robots on the factory floor of Ex Robots
A video of the inside of a Chinese humanoid robotics factory circulating on social media shows realistic humanoid robots in different stages of development.
The short clip was originally uploaded on TikTok by an unverified user and claims to have been filmed on the factory floor at Ex Robots, a robotics company based in Dalian, China.
Unlike humanoid robots designed for industrial or domestic purposes, based on Ex Robots’ previous deliveries these are most likely to be for display purposes, with 3D-printed silicone skin and human-like hair and clothing to demonstrate the possibilities of lifelike robotic designs.
Also in the video is a six-armed robotic backpack-like design with twirling humanoid hands, though this again appears to be more for demonstration purposes than a particular function.
Established in 2009, Ex Robots said it builds devices for “government agencies, medical institutions and service retail industries”, according to a translation of its website. Its humanoid designs are currently used in educational and corporate settings, such as science museums and public service centers, to showcase the possible future of humanoid robotics.
In 2021, the company opened what it said was the first robot museum in China, the Ex Future Science and Technology Museum.
In a statement accompanying the launch, Ex Robots said the museum “integrates high-tech achievements such as bionic humanoid robots, 5G cloud robots, interactive science and technology products, etc.”
The museum also features a “bionic experimental module,” an AI robot research center, a bionic robot manufacturing center and other scientific and technological scenes visitors can experience.
