Industrial Cleaning Robot Uses IoT to Efficiently Identify, Categorize Trash
Pudu Robotics’ robotic sweeper enhances cleaning efficiency with smart automation and real-time monitoring
Service robotics manufacturer Pudu Robotics has launched a new AI-powered robotic sweeper for cleaning large-scale environments such as warehouses and manufacturing plants.
Using AI-driven features trained to handle the challenges of large environments the PUDU MT1 can clean regions exceeding roughly 1.1 million square feet, according to the company.
For example, using AI the robot can identify and categorize waste, distinguishing real trash from non-trash items, as well as patrol large areas with a wide canning field of view, activating the cleaning mechanism only when necessary for efficiency.
In addition, the robot uses lidar SLAM and VSLAM for route optimization to ensure thorough coverage with minimal redundancy. It can also adjust to layout changes and integrate with IoT devices, such as elevators, gates and other infrastructure for multi-floor cleaning.
Real-time updates, visualized cleaning reports, and notifications when the trash is full can be received through remote monitoring apps and PC interfaces.
Traditional cleaning in expansive settings like home improvement stores, warehouses, and manufacturing plants is often labor-intensive and less efficient. The combined AI-powered capabilities of PUDU MT1 can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high hygiene standards, said the company.
"The scale and complexity of modern facilities require advanced cleaning solutions that go beyond traditional methods,” said company founder and CEO Felix Zhang.
“The AI capabilities of our PUDU MT1 deliver the intelligence and automation essential for keeping extensive areas meticulously clean, meeting the high expectations for hygiene and operational efficiency in large environments."
Other features of the robot suite include an intuitive touchscreen interface for easy operation and customization, and an extended handle for manual intervention, facilitating transitions between areas and semi-outdoor tasks.
The robot can also navigate narrow passages as slim as 29.5 inches, overcoming obstacles up to three-quarters of an inch and traversing gaps up to 1.3 inches, for edge-to-edge cleaning. It has a 6-hour battery life and offers 24/7 cleaning when paired with its charging dock.
This is the third cleaning product in the company’s product lineup. Earlier in the year the China-based company launched the PUDU T300, an autonomous robot for logistics workflows.
The company said it is dedicated to enhancing human productivity and living standards through innovative robot technology and holds nearly a thousand authorized patents worldwide, encompassing a wide range of core technologies.
