Humanoid AI Robot Serves Tea at Walmart
The installation of the robot called Adam is part of a planned rollout across 240 One Kitchen U.S. locations
A Nevada robotics company has installed a humanoid, AI-driven robotic beverage system at One Kitchen in a Walmart in Rockford, Illinois.
The installation of the robot called Adam is part of a planned rollout across 240 One Kitchen U.S. locations.
The robot was installed by AlphaMax Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Richtech Robots.
The Adam interactive robot is an advanced robotic beverage system that has two arms and can interact with customers using its intelligent conversation AI, according to the company.
“We continue to reach new milestones, this time celebrating the first humanoid drink robot in the state of Illinois and also officially launching AlphaMax Management,” said Matt Casella, president of Richtech Robotics. “Our new subsidiary is expected to generate a new revenue stream and also stable cash flow and profit. We look forward to its continued growth.”
The robot has started serving a variety of coffee and boba drinks to customers and is expected to serve up to 200 cups of coffee and tea per day.
The robot drink-making capabilities were demonstrated at CES in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Adam is used via an integrated touchscreen point-of-sale system for customer ordering and paying.
While One Kitchen manages the staff, location logistics and leasing, Richtech Robotics manages the programming maintenance and repair of the robotic systems.
The approach of the One Kitchen restaurants is to aggregate multiple national and local brands using a single kitchen.
The Adam robot also has been used at Botbar, a robot-run coffee shop in New York, and Cloutea, a boba tea restaurant in Las Vegas.
