About me:
I am vice president of software engineering at Tile and have spent more than two decades in the tech industry as an award-winning software engineering leader at the forefront of emerging consumer technology across Silicon Valley, including management roles at Apple, Tile, Zynga and American Express.
I currently lead all software engineering efforts across mobile, backend, web and QA. I am an avid public speaker, presenting on retaining women in tech, engineering leadership, DEI and various technologies and I also coach and mentor tech leaders on creating inclusive and diverse workplaces in the tech industry.
What I created:
I partnered with Intel, HP and other major original equipment manufacturers to enable Intel based laptops to behave as Tiles without needing additional hardware. The laptops will be findable from the free Tile mobile app available on iOS and Android smartphones.
What it is for:
This innovation allows users to find their Intel-based laptops with the Tile app, even when they’re powered off. Users simply download and install the free Tile Windows app from the Microsoft Store and activate their PC as a Tile. When nearby, they can locate and ring their laptop from the Tile mobile app. We have recently expanded our partnership to include Lenovo, MSI and Fujitsi.
My role in the creation:
I was the partner engineering director in charge of leading this integration from the beginning. I hired the engineering team, worked closed with business development team on defining the product and met regularly with OEM partners to ideate on features and strategy. We initially started as a hardware-based integration and have since evolved to partnering with Intel to enable the solution to not require additional hardware.
