Uber Freight Expands Truck Loading Technology Nationwide

Uber Freight has announced the nationwide expansion of its drop and hook solution, automating the truck loading process.

The Powerloop solution connects truckers to loads requiring transportation and allows them to pick up and drop off pre-loaded cargo from one location without needing to manually handle the products themselves.

Under the new updates, Powerloop has also gained AI-powered bundling capabilities, optimizing a driver’s route to allow them to collect and drop off as many trailers as possible. 

Uber Freight also announced “telematics-enhanced” smart trailers for increased efficiency and flexibility. 

As part of the smart trailer update, Powerloop trailers now come equipped with GPS, cargo sensors, door sensors and 24/7 monitoring cameras for real-time visibility into trailer location and capacity, and an alarm system that alerts businesses if trailers are damaged or stolen. 

Uber Freight said the expansion responds to the “explosive growth” of Powerloop, with the capacity program experiencing a 30% increase in load volume in 2023 alone.
