Autonomous Drone Operations Docking Station Introduced
Jouav’s new hangar was on display at Intergeo 2023, showcasing UAV technologies
A VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) vehicle hangar for autonomous drone operations has been introduced by Jouav, a developer of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
The Jouav VTOL hangar was shown at Intergeo 2023’s unmanned systems focus area, which put the spotlight on UAV technologies. It includes the hangar, the company’s CW-15X VTOL drone and the company’s cloud management platform.
The VTOL hangar station is a modular docking station for drones to land, recharge, take off and execute missions, according to the company. It is powered by the company’s management platform allowing users to plan flights, analyze data and manage equipment from the cloud.
The VTOL drone is equipped with an intelligent binocular system and wave radar system for UAV flight safety. It has a controlled distance of more than 18 miles, a maximum speed of 44 mph and a flight time of 100 minutes when carrying a load.
The vehicle is designed for industrial uses including power line inspections, remote sensing in a smart city environment and water resource management.
The modular docking station has air conditioning and heating systems to maintain the storage temperature and humidity of the drones. It can charge the drone to 80% in 40 minutes and 100% in 80 minutes, according to the company. It also has a self-inspection mode for flight safety and a power supply cabinet in case of power failure.
