Alex McFadyen, executive vice president of technology at Branded Entertainment Network (BENlabs) discusses how AI supports product placement in TV and movies and helps YouTube creators test audience engagement.

BENlabs was behind James Bond drinking a Heineken, KFC appearing in Stranger Things and the Baby Bjorn baby carrier featured in The Hangover. The company’s TubeBuddy, which helps creators and influencers better target their content, has 14 million registered users.

McFadyen talks about the role of AI in the creative industry, supporting data-led decision-making to engage with an audience more effectively, and helping movie and TV show makers understand the audience for and potential performance of their offerings even before they air.
