DroneUp, Wonder Robotics Partner to Scale Autonomous Drone Services
The partners are deploying new tools to improve drone efficiency and allow operators to control multiple drones at once
Autonomous drone delivery company DroneUp is partnering with Wonder Robotics to increase the autonomy and safety of its drone pipeline, and support plans to expand into international markets.
Wonder Robotics, an Israeli startup that develops autonomous drone solutions, has already completed a successful initial evaluation of DroneUp’s platform.
Under the partnership, Wonder Robotics will integrate its platform WonderLand into DroneUp’s drone pipeline. WonderLand features include vertical awareness (Vertical Detect And Avoid) and robust precision landing, allowing drones to navigate around obstacles such as trees, cables and houses.
The platform also allows a single operator to oversee and control multiple drones at once.
The collaboration hopes to improve the safety and efficiency of DroneUp’s autonomous drones, as well as provide a scalable solution that supports the company’s goal of reaching international markets.
“Commitment to safe operation is our top priority, and exploring cutting-edge technology like Wonderland is so important to stay on that course,” said John Vernon, DroneUp’s CTO. “Not only does implementing this into our tech stack improve individual deliveries, but it also gives us a clearer path towards scaling our operation as drone delivery becomes more and more popular every year.
Possible applications for the drones include medical delivery services, as well as deliveries in the utility industry.
Additional flight tests are planned to further test Wonder Robotics’ technology in DroneUp’s devices.
