Beep has launched a new platform to monitor and manage autonomous vehicle fleets, and help companies integrate autonomous mobility services into their operations.

The software platform, Beep AutonomOS, is a vehicle-agnostic solution that gives users insight into on-road operations and fleet performance, aimed at improving transparency and optimizing vehicle deployments.

According to the company, the platform is primarily intended for “public transit operators and mobility service providers” and will focus on public, multi-passenger autonomous vehicles, such as autonomous buses and shuttles.

Features of the platform include in-cabin monitoring, allowing remote operators to identify potential issues and intervene if necessary. The platform also has an optimization engine to “maximize service efficiency” and is integrated with existing smart city infrastructure to provide a more holistic view of road conditions.

According to Beep, the rise of software-driven mobility services provides the opportunity for a “radically enhanced” passenger experience.

With the launch of its platform, the company hopes to position itself at the forefront of this industry change and fulfill a market need for remote monitoring and management of autonomous services as they become increasingly commonplace.

“Autonomous vehicles are capable of safely navigating our streets from waypoint to waypoint, but lack the concepts of mission, service and passenger,” said Joe Moye, Beep’s CEO. “Beep AutonomOS fills a void in the autonomy landscape by introducing management and orchestration logic enabling the integration of autonomous vehicles into public mobility networks.

“More importantly, AutonomOS adds an additional layer of functionality to address passenger safety and comfort concerns in advance of fully unattended autonomous deployments.”
