SAP Unveils AI-Driven Supply Chain Solutions at Hannover Messe 2024
Manufacturers can use SAP’s new AI solutions to obtain greater insights on their supply chains
SAP has introduced new AI-driven supply chain solutions specifically designed for manufacturers at this year’s Hannover Messe, taking place April 22-26 in Hanover, Germany.
Also on display this week is SAP’s AI copilot, Joule, an assistant tool manufacturers can interact with using natural language. Users can also interact with the copilot solution using voice commands.
Joule can help tag product designs, providing manufacturers with information on their products such as identifying a supply chain problem.
A new AI insights tool that allows manufacturers to leverage higher volumes of data from across their production processes, was also launched by the company.
The software provider unveiled a new anomaly detection system manufacturers can use to detect issues with machines.
It combines sensor data from smart devices and edge gateways and provides manufacturers with an advanced tool to address potential breakdowns.
The anomaly detection system is embedded in the SAP Asset Performance Management application and will be available later this year.
“Businesses today are confronted with challenges ranging from supply chain disruptions and labor shortages to geopolitical uncertainties,” said Muhammad Alam from SAP Product Engineering. “SAP recognizes the imperative for agility and intelligence, driving innovation with AI-powered solutions to streamline supply chain and manufacturing processes.”
“Companies can enhance operational efficiency and improve supply chain resiliency while delighting customers with superior service, paving the way for sustained growth and market competitiveness.”
Customers including solar energy equipment supplier SMA Solar use SAP’s industrial solutions.
“SMA Solar modernizes its manufacturing execution systems to support sustainable, risk-resilient manufacturing operations with the power of AI-enabled visual inspection in the SAP Digital Manufacturing solution,” said Heiko Kehm, SMA Solar’s head of IT order to cash.
