LG, SVT Robotics Partner to Connect, Scale Warehouse Robots
LG’s robots will connect to warehouse management systems, providing greater control of robotic fleets
LG is partnering with SVT Robotics to scale the deployment of LG’s CLOi CarryBot autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in U.S. warehouses.
LG’s CLOi CarryBot is launching this week at the MODEX 2024 trade show. An autonomous robot for moving stock around a warehouse, the CarryBot is designed for use in a fleet, with up to 100 of the AMRs capable of operating at once.
SVT brings its SoftBot platform to the partnership, designed to connect AMRs to warehouse management systems to offer managers monitoring and optimization capabilities of robotic fleets.
According to Tom Bingham, LG’s senior director, the SoftBot platform allows for easy deployment of new robots without requiring custom code for integration.
“Autonomous robotics are creating new opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, profitability and employee well-being,” said Bingham. “We sought out SVT Robotics because of the vital role warehouse technology providers play in streamlining warehouse operations, as well as the need for robotic solutions to be fully integrated and compatible with existing systems,
“Our work with SVT Robotics has simplified CLOi CarryBot integration to nearly a plug-and-play process by providing proven, tested integration software that eliminates the need for IT teams to depend on custom-coded approaches.”
Using SoftBot, LG can connect its AMRs to a range of warehouse software systems, including Warehouse Management Systems, Warehouse Execution Systems, Material Control Systems, vertical lifts and packaging automation.
“SVT Robotics’ goal is to accelerate and simplify deployment of robotics in environments where minutes of downtime can equal thousands of dollars for businesses,” said A.K. Schultz, SVT Robotics’ CEO. “And we’re looking forward to doing just that for the new LG CLOi CarryBots,
“Whether a warehouse is introducing its first robot or its hundredth, the SoftBot Platform will enable LG customers to easily onboard, monitor and optimize the technology.”
