Wearable Devices Enable Coach-to-Player Communication
A new partnership between Kore and GoRout is bringing constant connectivity to on-field wearable communication devices
IoT connectivity provider Kore is partnering with GoRout, a provider of coach-to-player communication tech, to create new devices providing on-field communication for players ranging from Little League to the NFL.
Under the partnership, Kore will power GoRout’s wearable devices, which connect players with coaches. With Kore’s new Super SIM, users can switch networks depending on what region they’re in, enabling constant communication regardless of location.
The team said the partnership would “revolutionize” on-field communication for sports including football, baseball and softball.
GoRout’s technology allows coaches to send play calls and pitches directly to players using a smartphone or tablet, with the players receiving the alerts on their wearable devices.
Data on player performance is also collected throughout the game and stored for later use to improve gameplay.
"IoT is revolutionizing the way we live and play," said Romil Bahl, Kore’s CEO. "No matter what sport, players really leave everything on the field, so using our technology to help optimize their performance is a big win for us
"This partnership will strengthen our GoRout Air Network and provide never-before-seen communication speeds across our devices,” said Mike Rolih, GoRout’s CEO.
