Honeywell Partners to Develop First Cloud-Connected Cockpit
Cyient and Honeywell have entered a multi-year partnership to develop the aviation industry design
Cyient has announced a multi-year partnership with Honeywell to manufacture the first ever cloud-connected cockpit system.
This novel kind of cockpit – dubbed the Honeywell Anthem – will feature a digital-first design, with an intuitive interface and a customizable software platform that can be made compatible with every kind of aircraft.
According to a joint statement from the collaborating companies, the cockpit will have “unparalleled levels of connectivity, an exciting and intuitive interface modeled after everyday smart devices and a highly scalable and customizable design.”
The new modular flight deck also allows pilots to customize displays based on mission and phase of flight.
“With Honeywell Anthem, pilots can quickly and easily position the primary flight display, navigation maps, charts, radio controls and other information and tools anywhere they want on any display,” said Jason Bialek, product line director for Honeywell Anthem.
“By allowing pilots to individually tailor the flight deck, we’re reducing pilot stress, pilot workload, initial training time, and the potential for errors during flight,” he added.
Under the deal, Cyient will provide its manufacturing know-how, as well as its Industry 4.0-linked plants to offer predictable delivery schedules and continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
“Honeywell Anthem…will transform the future of aviation,” said Karthikeyan Natarajan, COO of Cyient.
