QNu Labs, a quantum cybersecurity company based in India, has announced the successful closure of a $6.5 million pre-series A1 funding round. The investment, spearheaded by Ashish Kacholia of Lucky Investments, along with Speciale Invest and a family fund, marks a significant leap toward the company’s goal of international expansion.
Founded in 2016 at IIT Madras Research Park, QNu Labs has emerged as India's first quantum-safe cybersecurity technology company, specializing in innovative solutions such as quantum key distribution, quantum random number generation and post-quantum cryptography. These technologies are crucial for safeguarding critical infrastructure against potential attacks including those by future quantum computers.
The new funding round signifies a major endorsement of QNu Labs' vision to establish itself as a global pioneer in quantum technology. The company plans to use the capital to expand its sales, marketing and engineering teams. It also aims to speed up the deployment of quantum solutions and expand into new geographic markets.
“This new investment is not just a financial boost but also a strong vote of confidence in our vision and capabilities at QNu Labs. With these funds, we’re poised to accelerate the completion of our state-of-the-art quantum technology solutions, further enhancing our product suite that’s already leading the market. Our goal is to solidify India’s position as a hub of quantum technological excellence and to emerge as a key player on the global stage, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in quantum-safe cybersecurity.” said QNu Labs co-founder and CEO Sunil Gupta.
“As an investor, it’s always exciting to support companies that are at the forefront of technological innovation. Our investment in QNu Labs is a clear indicator of our confidence in their ability to lead and innovate in the rapidly evolving quantum tech landscape,” added Ashish Kacholia of Lucky Investment.
